Sim’s Park in Coonoor, located at 1,780 metres above sea level and spread across 12 hectares, is known for Magnolia, Araucaria, roses, and rare plant species.
Established in 1874 by J.D. Sim and Major Murray, Sim’s Park was first a pleasure garden for British residents and later evolved into a botanical landmark.
Sim’s Park is open daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Entry fee ranges from ₹30–₹75 for adults and ₹15–₹40 for children, depending on season
October to June is the best time to visit Sim’s Park, when Coonoor’s weather is pleasant and ideal for exploring flowers, trees, and walking paths.
The annual Fruit & Vegetable Show, held in May, showcases colourful fruits, flowers, creative displays, cultural events, and festive activities for visitors.
